Sa Ta Na Ma Mantra Meditation Relaxation Technique
If something is causing you to feel stressed or overwhelmed, mantra meditations are a great way to calm your mind and body, giving you back a sense of peace and control.
When you say the words Sa Ta Na Ma (out loud or in your head), press your thumb and the fingers on your hand (one finger at a time), and focus on your breathing, you bring yourself back to the present moment. It's difficult to worry about the past or stress about the future when practicing this meditation. You are right here, right now, breathing, pressing on the pressure points, and saying SaTaNaMa.
Meaning:
Sa - Stimulates knowledge and releases you from limitation
Ta - Gives you patience and wisdom
Na - Provides energy and vitality
Ma - Helps with communication
Hand Gestures (Mudra):
SA - press the thumb and the first or Jupiter finger together with pressure.
TA - press the thumb and the middle or Saturn finger together.
NA - press the thumb and the ring or Sun finger together.
MA - press the thumb and the small or Mercury's finger together.
The best part is you can do the Sa Ta Na Ma Mantra Meditation anytime and anywhere without others noticing. You can do it under your desk before a test, on the school bus, in bed before you go to sleep, or under the dinner table when you are with your family.
It is one of my personal favorites when it comes to managing stressful moments in my life.
