The reminiscing shift

Quiet Mind Chatter with Happy Memories

One way to calm negative chatter in your mind is to choose a scene in your life when you were truly happy.

It might be a pleasant memory from your childhood or something recent, including a great weekend with friends, a fun sporting event, or a relaxing vacation with your family. Stop and fill your mind with that positive image when you get upset. Then, take yourself back to the moment. Worries and upset will lose their grip, and you will find yourself feeling better.

The happy hormone dopamine is released in our brain when we recall happy memories, making us feel more joyful and motivated!

You might have to do this often at first, but making this shift a regular practice will have long-term benefits for your overall happiness.
